OVERVIEW

People choose to volunteer for a variety of reasons. For some it offers the chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around them. For others it provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge. Regardless of the motivation, what unites them all is that they find it both challenging and rewarding.

When you ask most people “why do you want to volunteer?” the response is cantered around helping others. After all, this is the reason that most volunteer organizations are established in the first place – to provide assistance where it is otherwise lacking. It might be assisting in the fight against poverty or raising awareness about an environmental concern you feel passionate about. But at the essence of volunteering is a desire to take positive action about a cause that matters to you.

Asia Youth Volunteer Camp is a deliberately organized event form caring youth leader to be a global volunteer. The program is combine about cultural learning, volunteer activities, workshop and social project implementation. We believe that this platforms will increase social awareness and helping youth to strengthen their self-competence to be agents of impactful change.

PROGRAM AGENDA

Asia Youth Volunteer Camp 2019 takes the theme of “Diverging Peace by being a Global Volunteer. Inspired by upcoming 2019 United Nations day, United Nation Youth Day, the role of youth in global development is considered essentials with regard to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 4 (Quality Education for All) and 17 (Partnership for the Goals). This program will combine inspirational conference and actionable activities to connect the young leaders for volunteerism action, social mission and sustainability development. This program will be a form of assessment about how the state of current challenge in real time, how our Young generation respond to it, and what kind of solution and possibilities they will offer.  As the action part, the delegates will take action together with 50 children refugees and orphan to create a peace project with social impact.

SDGs 4 and 17

SDGs summarize global target into 17 goals which need to be carefully looked at by every single citizen of the world, specifically by Youth as future generation. Volunteerism becomes essential to promote SDGs awareness, especially for some topics like Education and global partnership. Within the Asia region, we will specifically focus on showcasing volunteering projects, initiatives and actions in the thematic areas of poverty, education and climate change. How will the volunteers respond to ensure the SDGs is achieved?

LEADERSHIP

Maintaining leader attitude is started by building social awareness and empathy. Being volunteer is one of experiences where people get to learn not only about social awareness and empathy, but also about situational problem solving skills, self-improvement and self-building. This topic will explore how to build the capacity of volunteer organization, how to build Leader-attitude volunteer with impactful contribution, how to reach the standard of volunteer management, and how to spread awareness about the value of volunteerism.

IMPACT

Delegates will engage with real issues and complexities. The Diversity of Delegates is expected to give advantages in giving various point of view and creating a more practical impact and fit solution to the communities.

SERIES OF PROGRAM

Inspirational Session and Program Orientation

This program will have delivered by speakers as a Founder of International NGO and the Experts, aims to accelerate the social awareness and volunteerism spirit with grand theme “The Power of Volunteerism”, it offers full of meaningful hours and inspiring conference.

Workshop Session

As a global volunteer, we need to settle how voluntarism purposes is and How to Make an impactful Change and How to Initiate Volunteerism project. In this program, will be trained by professional volunteer to solve the problem.

Volunteering Session and Visit

Visiting the Official NGO in Malaysia, who have caring activity with Rohingnya Refugees in Malaysia. Collaborating with 50 Refugees to share the donation and take action to make them happy with teaching program in a short time.

Peace and Social Project Implementation

After the whole program, the participant will have combined together with other delegates to share the ideas and the initiates about volunteerism in their country and spreading the positive movement to make the better worlds with social action.

Cultural Exchange

The end of program, all of delegate will gathered together to learning the Malay heritage and culture and performing the Malay art Performances and will be seen by local people
